Leadership Panel at the Wellbeing @ Work Summit Asia 2025

March 26, 2025

Today WorkWell Leaders (WWL) moderated a fireside chat at the Wellbeing at Work Summit Asia hosted by Wellbeing at Work World where HR leaders gathered to hear from experts in the field pushing the boundaries of wellbeing in the workplace.

Bob Grove, Executive Director, was the fireside chat host, while our Champion Members, Sze Keed Wong, Chief Executive Officer, AIA Singapore and Vineet Kashyap, Vice President & General Manager, Carrier (Global Container Carrier Refrigeration) shared about how wellbeing is a key driver of their business.

During the session Sze Keed shared that in insurance, where healthy living is part of their business, it is imperative that their employees are also healthy and thriving. Wellbeing is part of their business strategy and lived through their everyday values, in terms of how wellbeing is part of individual performance measures down to the benefits they provide and encouraged to access.

While Vineet talked about how they deal with the needs of factory and office workers within the organisation. Fundamental principles ought to remain the same despite the different working environments but not be constrained by dogmatic policy. Employees of every job type are empowered through guidelines so they feel comfortable having conversations about their needs with their supervisors without judgment.

Sze Keed mentioned that they’ve seen tangible outcomes in business performance since they’ve implemented this as a business strategy even if they can’t concretely link the dots between wellbeing and business outcomes. Vineet elaborated that making a direct correlation was difficult, however as an experienced leader, when his people metrics of retention, inclusion and engagement are performing well, he always sees the business perform better than it had been since they increased their focus on wellbeing. They both emphasised this is important to their Boards, as well as how they’re holding their own leadership teams accountable too.

Despite being forerunners in this space, they both agreed that they still have a long way to go on this journey, and the way to get there is ever evolving.

WorkWell Leaders will be releasing the outcomes of a first of its kind study, the WorkWell Leaders Impact Measure: An Organisational Wellbeing & Performance Study, at the national WorkWell Leaders Awards and Gala on 24 April in Singapore.
